I got into keeping chickens after doing a hatch in a borrowed incubator - just to see if it would work! We now have green egg laying hens as well as light brown, dark brown and white egg layers - I like a colourful egg basket! My youngest son has standards and bantams he has hatched and raised and we also have some ducks. I have lived in Shetland for 28 years and am married to a native islander and we have 3 great kids.
